Retirement Visa

Retirement Visa ( Visa LANSIA/Lanjut usia) facility was announced by the Department of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, in 1998 with the Decree no.M.04-IZ.01.02 and put into operation since April 18, 2002. The visa arrangement was created for foreign pensioners to stay & live in Indonesia after their retirement without leaving Indonesia every 6 month or every year to arrange new visa. With the retirement visa, foreigner can stay in Indonesia for long term only by extending their visa once a year within Indonesia.

Retirement Visa enables foreigners to stay Indonesia for long term especially for pensioner or person whose age is 55 years old or over. To be eligible for the retirment visa you must have no intention to work in Indonnesia, be in good health and character, have no involvement in any crime and political movement inside and outside Indonesia, as well as the matter of age.

If your application is approved, you will be allowed to come to Indonesia initially for one year and your visa can be extended every year until 5 times. And then you can apply for a permanent stay permit (KITAP) for 5 years. The following is the requirements for applying retirement visa.

Requirements of Retirement Visa Application

1. Retirement visa facility is granted for citizens of 24 approved countries (Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Spain, United States of America, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand), and Taiwan.
2. Minimal age of 55 year
3. Copy of passport with minimum validity of 18 months
4. Pension fund or Deposit interests from banks or financial institutions in the country of origin or in Indonesia amounting to a minimum of US$ 1500 per month.
5. Health insurance
6. Life insurance
7. Third party liability insurance
8. Curriculum vitae
9. Statement of intention to reside in an accomodation in Indonesia
Purchased : Minimum of US$ 35000,-
Rented : Minimum of US $ 500 in Jakarta Special Capital District, Bandung and Bali
Minimum of US $ 300 in other cities in Java Island, city of Medan, and Batam island
Minimum of US $ 200 in other cities
10. Statement of intention to use Indonesian nurse care
11. Letter of Appointment of a travel bureau authorised to handle senior citizen tourism (from the following options)

Retirement Visa
